This page lists all of the maps from Primal Carnage and Primal Carnage: Extinction.

The original game launched with 5 large arenas to fight in, with four new maps being added when the Get to the Chopper gamemode released as free DLC.

Primal Carnage: Extinction includes all of the maps from the original game, with many layout and aesthetic updates, and even alternate versions such as Snowy Forest Chasm and Snowy Ruthless, as well as new maps such as Verdant and Transfer.

Additional maps were created for Extinction's new Survival and Capture the Egg modes, with more created by the community being added to the game later on. So far, eight new levels have been accepted for inclusion through the Steam Workshop.

Team Deathmatch[]

A classic gamemode, Team Deathmatch pits teams of players against each other in a fight to the death. The goal is to kill the most amount of enemy players in the allotted time period. Once a round ends, teams will switch sides and repeat the process.

Get to the Chopper[]

An objective-based gamemode, humans players must get to the chopper and escape before time runs out. However, they must fight through waves of dinosaur players and capture certain objectives before they can evacuate.

Get to the Chopper is currently playable on the following maps:

  • Docks
  • Downpour
  • Ruthless
  • Snowy Ruthless
  • The Falls
  • Phantom Cave

Free Roam[]

A sandbox-type gamemode, Free Roam allows players to explore maps or hang out with other players without any sort of objective in place.

Free Roam is currently supported on the following maps:

  • Seasons
  • Valley
  • Island
  • Forgotten World
  • Pandoria
  • All TDM Maps

Survival[]

A player vs AI gamemode, five players are pitted against endless waves of AI dinosaurs, along with the occasional boss wave. The AI dinosaurs become increasingly difficult to take down with each passing levels, so players must upgrade their weapons and buy stat boosts to help them survive the next wave.

Survival is currently supported on the following maps:

  • Geothermal
  • Visitor Center
  • White Forest
  • Renaissance

Capture the Egg[]

A capture the flag-type gamemode, Capture the Egg is another objective-based gamemode where human players must collect egg specimens. However, dinosaur players will be defending these nest with their lives, so players must work together to collect as many egg specimens as possible before time runs out or they expend all available lives.

Capture the Egg repurposes existing levels for the game mode by dynamically adding new gameplay elements to the map. This is different to GTTC, where maps such as Docks have dedicated versions of the level that are separate from the TDM map itself. This method reduces the time taken to make CTE levels and keeps the overall file size for the game's maps from bloating too much.

Maps that can be configured for Capture the Egg currently include:

Hunt[]

A forgotten gamemode, Hunt pits a group of human players against a Cloaked Raptor. The goal of the gamemode is to either kill the raptor or wipe out the entire human team. If a human player kills the raptor, they become the raptor in the next game. However if all human players are killed, the current Cloaked Raptor player retains their role until they are killed. If a human player is killed by the Cloaked Raptor, they will respawn once all remaining human players are killed.
